Chaya Someswara Swamy Temple is located in Panagal village of Nalgonda district. This temple was built during the 11th and 12th centuries by the Ikshvaku family. The temple got its name as it is believed that there is an everlasting shadow on Lord Shiva’s lingam in the main temple all day. This temple is the epitome of beauty, art, and spectacle. The temple got its name from its mystifying shadow, or chaya(Telugu). It is designed by Kunduru Cholas and accepted as Thrikutalayam, testifies to the fantastic creative thinking and flair of its architects.
