Bagalkot District
Bagalkot is an administrative district in the Indian state of Karnataka, with its headquarters at Bagalkot town. The district covers about 6,593 sq km along the Ghataprabha River and was carved out of the erstwhile Vijayapur district in 1997. The region was historically ruled by the Chalukya dynasty.
