One of the oldest temples in the country, Sri Suryanarayana Swamy Temple is located in the center of Jainath Mandal in Adilabad District. This temple is believed to have been built during the Jain period in the 11th and 13th centuries. It has a high peak and is full of great architecture. The founder of the temple is Sri Lakshminarayana Swamy. A very glorious temple. It is evident from the architecture of the temple that this temple was built in the Jain tradition. History says that that is why the village got its name Jainath. This temple is made with natural black stone.

Jainath Lakshminarayana Temple stands as a living mirror of ancient architecture. The temple was built in the 11th and 13th centuries with Vematmalapant stone from Maharashtra. The rocks used for this temple are not found anywhere around the vicinity of Jainath. This rock was brought from Maharashtra. It has a high peak and every step is adorned with sculpture. 60 yards high and 40 yards wide, in the sanctum sanctorum above the octagonal mandapam, Lord Suryanarayana Swamy radiates his immense rays of compassion on the devotees. Moolaviratlu Lakshminarayana Swamy idol has Lakshmi Devi, Alwars, and other deities in the south.

Best Time to Visit

Every year in the months of February, April, August, September, and October, after Dussehra, on Ashvayuja Poornima, the morning sun rays touch the feet of Lord Lakshminarayana. That is why this temple is also known as Suryadevalaya.

Festivals celebrate In Temple

Every year Swami’s Brahmotsavam starts from Kartikashuddha Ekadashi. On the day of Dwadashi, Swami’s Kalyanotsavam is celebrated as an eye festival. A large number of devotees from Maharashtra come to watch this. Inside the mandapam, there are sculptures of Hanuman and Rambhadi Apsaras on the pillars and Garuda pillar at the front of the temple. On both sides of the temple, there are sculptures with romantic poses. The Koneru in front of the temple covers an area of ​​20 acres. Dolaharana Mandapam was built in it. Over time it fell into disrepair.

Devotees from all over the state come and perform special pujas to witness this wonderful sight.
