About
Mini Tirupati Temple, officially known as Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, is a replica of the famous Tirumala Tirupati Temple. It is located in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, and offers similar rituals, architecture, and spiritual ambiance managed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
The TTD’s initiative to build this temple stemmed from the desire to provide a replica of the original Tirumala temple and offer a similar divine experience, bringing the blessings of Lord Balaji closer to the city.
Significance
The temple is situated on a small hill. This temple holds immense significance as it is a direct extension of the sacred Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. It adheres to the Vaikhanasa Agama tradition of worship, just like the main temple in Tirumala, ensuring that the sanctity and rituals are preserved. The main deity, Lord Venkateswara, is an 8.6-foot tall idol carved from black granite stone, sourced from the Namakkal quarry in Tamil Nadu, and specially designed under the supervision of TTD sculptors to resemble the idol at Tirumala.
Architecture
- Grand Entrance (Gopuram): Standing at an impressive 67 feet high, it welcomes devotees with its intricate carvings and towering presence.
- Dwajasthambam: The flag staff, made of teakwood, is 45 feet tall, a prominent feature in the temple complex.
- Gold-plated Garbha Gruham: The sanctum sanctorum, where the main idol resides, is beautifully gold-plated, adding to the divine aura.
- Other Deities: Besides Lord Venkateswara, the temple complex also houses shrines for Maha Ganapathi, Sri Mahalakshmi Ammavaru, and Andal Amma, along with a small temple for Lord Hanuman right in front of the main entrance. And akilandam is also present infront of the temple.
