It is one of the significant places to visit in Chikmagalur and spreads over an area of 490 sq km and is situated at a distance of 38 km on the western side of the Chikmagalur town. The hills of the Western Ghats surround the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary on the sides, and it provides an amazing natural view.
The high mountain peaks provide a heavenly view, and the snow-capped peaks look like ascending to heaven. The mountain peaks are often considered the crown of the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary. Trails at Method, Talbidrekere, Melgiri, and Kesarhalla are other significant places. The main source of recreation is safaris, Bird watching, island camping, and water rafting are also good options. Chandanahadlu and Doddahadlu offer good Tiger watching activities.
