About and History of Hampi Zenana Enclosure

It is a Hampi Zenana Enclosure special area reserved for Royal Women located near the Ranga Temple of Hampi. This massive monument showcases the Indo- Islamic style of architecture. The carvings and the architecture amazes till today. The Lotus Mahal is the main attraction of this Enclosure. 

According to the legends, this area was fully protected by eunuchs and enclosure was fully restricted for men. This building has no windows, not even light sources were provided. This enclosure was guarded by the guards from all three sides from the three Watch Towers. From the top of the enclosure, one can enjoy the view of Elephant Stables. So that the Royal Women could stand over the top and can have a view of the royal processions and other ceremonies. The water Pavilion is the other attraction of the enclosure.
