About Nainpaka Temple

Nainpaka Temple is believed to have built in the 15th or 16th century on a pink stone rock. It is unique in style and touted as the one and only in southern India in a state of shambles. This lesser-known rock-cut temple, a prototype of Sarvatobhadra architecture, which has four deities Yoga Narasimha Swamy, Venugopala Swamy, Sri Rama and Balarama, carved out on a protruded boulder, is a revelation of sorts.

Inside the sanctum sanctorum, the carvings of Yoga Narasimha Swamy, Kaleeya Venugopala Swamy, Sri Rama and Balarama, one on each side of east, south, north and west respectively.

The shrine, which has four entrances on cardinal directions could be accessed from all sides, is a masterpiece of Sarvatobhadra architecture. The vimana (upper part) of the ornately sculpted 50-foot gopuram was made of bricks while the Adhishtana (base) was constructed with the pink stones sliced from the bedrock.

Earlier the place is known as Napaka and since muni’s had done their yagas this places is also known to be as Munikunta and present it is called to be as Nainpaka. There is also koneru near to this temple.

Best time to visit

Sri Sita Rama kalyanam, Narasimha Swamy Jayanthi, Sri Krishna Janmastami, Dhanurmasam, Lakshmi Narayana Kalyanam on Mukkoti Ekadasi.

How to reach

By Air: There is no airport near to Nainpaka.

By Train: There is no railway station near to Nainpaka in less than 10 km from Regonda. However there are railway Stations from nearby town Warangal. You can reach from Warangal to Nainpaka by road.

By Road: Direct buses connect Hyderabad to Jayashankar Bhupalpally at regular intervals and it takes about 5 hours from the state capital.
