About Rallapad Reservoir

This Project was constructed across Manneru River during the year 1951 to 1958 near Rallapadu village, Lingasamudram mandal of Prakasam district. The longitude and latitude of this project are 79° 42’€™30″€ and 15° 02’€™ 30″€. The catchment area of this project is 2202 Sqkm, reservoir capacity is 1105.328 Mcft (31.30 MCum).

This Project is constructed across The Manneru River During the year 1951 to 1958 and Located in Rallapadu village, Lingasamudram mandal of Prakasam district.

There is a gap ayacut of 3,400 Acres under this project. Hence modernization of this project is proposed under JICA loan assistance with an amount of Rs. 23.00 crores. Improvements to head works, C.C lining for main canal and branch canals along with repairs / reconstructions of CD/CM structures are proposed.

The proposed utilization of this project is 2000 Mcft. The ayacut contemplated under this project is 16000 Acres. The left canal is of 2.8Km length & irrigates 1500 Acres ayacut. The right main canal is for a length of 20.14Km & it irrigates 14,500 Acres ayacut. There is an old spillway with 10No’€™s vertical gates with size 12.19 X4.57 M. There is a new spillway with 5 Nos radial gates of size12.19X7.62 M. The TBL & FRL of project is +45.415 M & +41.15 M respectively.
