Prakasam District
Prakasam is one of the 9 districts in the Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh, with its headquarters at Ongole. The district is named in memory of Tanguturi Prakasam Panthulu, a freedom fighter who later became the first Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and was born within the district, according to the district’s official government website.
