Sri Shyam Prabhu was the grand son of Bheem, second brother among the ‘Panchapandavas’ and the son of Veer Ghatotkach. He was named Barbaric. By Upadesa by Lord Sri Krishna Barbaric offered devotion to Bhagawathi Durga Mata. Happy with this Deviji appeared and blessed him with three arrows of different kinds.
When Barbaric was on his way to watch the Mahabharat war Sri Krishna transformed as Brahmin, asks him to sacrifice his head to him. Barbaric immediately donated his head with his own hands to the Brahmin a form of Lord Sri Krishna transformed as Brahmin, asks him to sacrifice his head to him. After end of Mahabharath War, Lord Krishna offered a gift to him, that his head with take Avatar again in Kaliyug and will be named and known as Lord Krishna’s own name that is Shyam. And such will be his Charisma that all his devotees wishes will be fulfilled.
