Once Diwan Saheb was digging a revetment to the road sewer Vemavaram almost four decades ago. While the wall was being built with stones, one of them looked like a seller and the stone was left out of the structure. The stone was kept on the side of the road for a few days and was worshiped by devotees sprinkling yellow saffron.
Meanwhile, some duck breeders came there. They set up a hut next to that stone. Being next to the statue of the goddess, the breeders believed that the ducks did not lay many eggs. The owner of those ducks made unexpectedly huge profits. At the end of the season, the owner of the ducks decided to migrate to Guntur. He also took the idol with him when he put the ducks in the truck. When he reached Guntur, the ducks were unloaded there.
Along with them, the idol was also brought down. What happened Immediately was the heads hung as if all the ducks were there. With that, he put the lamps on his mistake and brought the idol back to the area, and stopped at the place where they now worship.
Devotees call the mother Kondalamma as she is found in the rocks. This mother appears to the devotees on the ground up to her head. The extraordinary glories of this goddess spread over decades in a very short period.
