Place To Visit In Ramanagara District

Bengaluru South District

Bengaluru South is a district in Karnataka, renamed from Ramanagara on 23 May 2025. The town of Ramanagara remains the district headquarters. The district comprises five taluks — Ramanagara, Channapatna, Kanakapura, Magadi, and Harohalli (separated from Kanakapura taluk in 2024) — and is part of the Bengaluru Division. Ramanagara town itself was earlier known as Shamserabad under Tipu Sultan and later as Closepet, before being renamed after former Karnataka Chief Minister Kengal Hanumanthayya.
