About
Sree Siddaganga Mutt is an ancient Gurukul, situated in Tumkur, amidst the beautiful and serene landscape. It aims to provide service to the needy and the poor, and this has been successfully carried out.
It was established in the 15th Century A.D. by the Sri Gosala Siddeswara Swamiji, who belongs to the Shunya Simhasana, a spiritual academy from the days of social reformer Basaweshwara. The present head of the mutt is Dr. Sree Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji, who is now 104 years old. He is the driving force in this ashram. He was born in Veerapura near Magadi Taluk. He took full responsibility for the mutt in the year 1941. He is also the founder of the Sree Siddaganga Educational Society. The tireless efforts of the swami have resulted in the development of free boarding for the children to its present size.
