Darjeeling is located in the Lesser Himalayas at an elevation of 2,000 metres (6,560 ft). The queen of the hills is a Himalayan city in the Indian state of west Bengal. It is internationally renowned as a tourist destination for its spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, along with its tea industry and Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The eye catching valleys meandering rivers, and of course the lush green tea gardens are the unique features of Darjeeling.
Gangtok (capital city of Sikkim) is a hill resort and one of the most popular places in north-east India. Located right in the middle of the Himalayan range, Gangtok is one of the most picturesque places to visit in the whole of India. Gangtok is nestled within higher Himalayan peaks with a year-round mild weather making it an excellent holiday spot. Located in the eastern Himalayan range, at an elevation of 1,650 m (5,410 ft).
The gangtok city is known for learning Buddhist and also connected to the commercial, religious and cultural activities. The city is largest town of Sikkim and very popular for its serene beauty. Tourism, which peaks in spring and summer, is the main source of income in Gangtok since it serves as a gateway to Sikkim.
