Mahabubnagar District

Mahabubnagar District is a southern district of Telangana, bordered by the Krishna River to the south and surrounded by the Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Kurnool, Raichur and Gulbarga districts. Mahabubnagar town lies about 96 km from Hyderabad and was formerly known as Rukmammapeta and Palamooru; the name was changed to Mahabubnagar on 4 December 1890.
