Nagarkurnool District
Nagarkurnool is a district in the southern part of Telangana state, with the town of Nagarkurnool serving as the district headquarters. The district was carved out of the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district and covers an area of about 6,545 square kilometers, with a population of 8,93,308 as per the 2011 Census. According to the district’s official tourism page, Nagarkurnool was named after two kings, Nagana and Kandana, who were brothers.
