Chikkaballapur is the district headquarters of the newly created Chikkaballapur district in the state of Karnataka, India, located within 3 km of Muddenahalli. According to the official district website, Chikkaballapur covers an area of about 4,244 square kilometers with a population of 1,255,104 and a literacy rate of 69.76 percent, spread across 6 blocks and 1,515 villages. The district is noted as a major site for grape, grain, and silk cultivation.
