Uttara Kannada District
Uttara Kannada, formerly known as North Canara, is a district in the Indian state of Karnataka. According to the official district website, it covers about 10,277 sq km with a population of around 14,37,169, across 12 taluks, and has about 140 km of coastline on the Arabian Sea. Forest cover accounts for roughly 80.8% of the district’s land area.
