Shivamogga District
Shimoga district, officially known as Shivamogga, is a district in the Karnataka state of India. A major part of the district lies in the Malnad region of the Sahyadri, and Shimoga city is its administrative centre. The district covers an area of about 8,477 sq km and has a population of around 17,52,753, and is known as the Food Cradle of Karnataka.
