About Sangareddy District

Sangareddy district is located in the northern region of the Telangana state. Sangareddy (formerly Sangareddy peta) is the district headquarters of Sangareddy district in Telangana. It was named after the ruler Sanga, who was the son of Rani Shankaramba, ruler of Medak during the period of the Nizams.

Sri Ketaki Sangameshwara Swamy Temple, Jharasangam, is a famous temple for Lord Shiva. It is located at a distance of 16 km from Zaheerabad. This temple is also called “Dakshina Kashi”.

  • Sri Ketaki Sangameshwara Swamy Temple, Jharasangam — also known as “Dakshina Kashi”, about 16 km from Zaheerabad.
  • Bonthapally VeeraBhadra Swamy Temple — about 42 km from Sangareddy, constructed during the Veerashaiva period.
  • Sri Kashi Vishweswar Temple — built between the 11th and 13th centuries by the Kakatiyas, about 4 km from Sangareddy.
  • Sri Bhramarambhika Mallikharjuna Swamy Temple, Beeramguda — referred to as the “second Srisailam”, established in the 13th century in Patancheru mandal, about 30 km from Sangareddy; hosts a five-day Shivaratri festival.
