Nellore District

Nellore District, officially Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District, is one of the nine districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, with Nellore city as its administrative headquarters. The district was known as Vikrama Simhapuri until the 13th century, after which it came to be called Nellore. It has a coastline of about 163 km along the Bay of Bengal, and per the official district website covers about 10,440 sq km with a population of about 24.69 lakh.
