Kodagu District

Kodagu, also known as Coorg, is a rural district in the southwest Indian state of Karnataka, with its headquarters at Madikeri. According to the official district website, Kodagu covers an area of about 4,102 square kilometers with a population of 554,519 as per the 2011 census. The district is home to native speakers of the Kodava language and is India’s second-largest coffee-producing region after the Chikkamagaluru district.
